Game Jam - Team of 4 members
Godot Engine, Figma
Trash Hero was created in a 48-hr Game Jam with the theme: Environmental Sustainability. It is a rhythm game in which the player must select the correct trash bin based on what they see, and then swing on the beat to dispose of the trash. This conveys the subliminal message that it is important for everyone to separate their trash properly!
From a UI Design perspective, I looked to incorporate the environment and 3D models into the UI itself to quickly convey the game's message.
3D Bin Models
Main Screen UI Sketches
I originally wanted to include 4 bins in the main screen to represent Play, Settings, Credits, and Quit Game. However, we didn't have any need for Settings and our artist could only produce limited assets due to time constraints.
Using Godot, I was able to place the 3D models into the scene, followed by layering UI elements on top.
